Austin, Texas – Abracon, LLC, The Heartbeat of the IoT®, a leading global manufacturer of frequency control, timing, synchronization, RF, connectivity and power solutions, announces the availability of a new continuous voltage SMD oscillator family.

The ASADV, ASDDV and ASEDV simple packaged crystal oscillator (SPXO) devices are designed for simplicity and optimized for low power consumption while providing low RMS jitter operation at any voltage between 1.60V and 3.60V.

Designers seeking to utilize a common local oscillator across a varying bias voltage scheme in their system will greatly benefit from this family, which reduces component count and optimizes their Bill of Material (BOM).

Further, this family of devices provides lower current consumption, yielding longer battery life and reducing overall system power budget. These devices can drive multiple loads and typically exhibit better EMI performance compared to commodity crystal oscillator solutions.

The primary differences between series within this SPXO family are the package sizes and frequency ranges. See the table below for reference.

For engineers looking to simplify their design, these oscillators serve as drop-in replacements, requiring minimal design work while eliminating bias-dependent frequency variation and bias-specific selection of clocking sources.

This family of devices are also an effective replacement for MEMS oscillators when shock and vibration are not critical.

The ASADV, ASDDV and ASEDV series provide limitless application potential, particularly for battery-powered designs requiring operation throughout a battery’s life span.

The continuous voltage MHz oscillators are well-suited for general MCU, USB, Ethernet, WiFi, and Bluetooth IC's for computer and peripheral, local area networking (LAN), medical, test and measurement, industrial control and automation, consumer electronic, and WANS designs.

These devices make ideal clock sources for IoT and security applications such as network cameras, DVRs, access control systems, and portable and wearable devices.

These three series are available with the most common operating temperatures, stability options and CMOS/HCMOS/LVCMOS compatible output format.
