Abracon Announces Antennas Supporting 4G/LTE and 2G/3G/GSM for M2M
2019-10-30 | Return
Austin, Texas – Abracon, LLC (Abracon), The Heartbeat of the IoT®, a leading global manufacturer of frequency control, timing, synchronization, RF, connectivity and power solutions, announces the availability of multiple antennas supporting cellular connectivity.
The chip and external antenna solutions cover 4G/LTE and 2G/3G/GSM bands necessary for new machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. These Abracon antennas deliver efficiency and gain within the respectively required bands and support industrial temperature range. They are ideal for cellular connectivity in devices such as smart agriculture sensors, smart city sensors, point-of-sale terminals, transportation/automotive products, gateways and telematics modules.
“Cellular connectivity provides highly available managed data services that M2M applications can use to securely connect and transfer data,” said Abracon Director of Marketing Juan Conchas. “Although 5G may be around the corner, the 2G/3G/GSM and 4G/LTE protocols still are still the dominant wireless protocols for connecting to cellular services in industrial applications. The legacy standards will remain significant as 5G rolls out.”

The AEACBK081014-S698 is an IP67-rated external antenna designed for 4G/LTE applications includes a 3m cable with an integrated SMA connector. Ideal for high durability applications, this antenna operates with a wide -40 °C to 85 °C ambient temperature range. Excellent 3dBi of gain improves efficiency and sensitivity in the end application.
The ACAR4008-S698 and ACAR3705-S698 chip antennas are optimized for 4G/LTE covering various bands from 700MHz to 2.7GHz. With an operating temperature range from -40 °C to 85 °C, these antennas support Industrial IoT (IIoT) applications. Their small form factors benefit footprint-challenged designs such as wireless modules.
The ACAR3005-S824 chip antenna supports 2G/3G/GSM covering bands for GSM850, GSM900, DCS, PCS, & UMTS. The small 30.0 × 5.0 × 5.0 mm footprint minimizes size concerns while still delivering up to 3dBi of gain in certain bands. Ideal for small form factor applications like modems and wireless modules, the ACAR3005-S824 supports the -40 °C to 85 °C operating temperature range
