Description
Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation, (AKM), currently provides the AK9750, which detects human movement at short distances, (1m), with four integrated InSb quantum-type infrared sensors.
Today, AKM launched the AK9753AE, which covers distances from 2 ~ 3m using an external optical lens. The AK9753AE can realize an ultra-small human sensor by using an external optical lens recommended by AKM. This lens is less than one tenth the size of conventional designs, and can extend detection distance to a range of up to 3m by condensing the IR. In addition, a new design can be made that covers a longer detection distance with the same board as the AK9750, since the AK9753AE is pin and functionally compatible with the AK9750.
The AK9753AE is best suited for security and energy saving applications in the office or at home as a long distance human detection sensor.
● PIR, (Passive Infrared Ray), Type IR Sensor IC with Optical Filter
The optical filter let rays in a band of 5µm or more through.
● Human Detection is obtained with the Recommended High Performance Lens
AKM’s Human presence detection algorithm not only detects approaching, but also passing by movement. This is available when combined with an AKM recommending high performance lens that covers 3 meters. Furthermore, field of view (FOV) angle can be set arbitrarily. The AK9753AE can detect a human presence even if they are not moving since it converts infrared rays from human to a signal directly in the same way as the AK9750.
● No Adjustment is Necessary by the System
The AK9753AE integrates a compensation IC. Offset of each sensor element and sensitivity errors are compensated at shipping inspection, therefore system adjustment is not necessary.
