Nichicon Develops UBY Series of Radial Lead Type Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors with High Temperature Range, High Capacity, and High Ripple Current
2015-10-20 | ReturnNichicon Corporation has developed the UBY Series of radial lead type aluminum electrolytic capacitors. This new series has a high temperature range of 125 to 135°C, with high capacitance, and high ripple current. This makes them ideal for the harsh demands of the transportation applications.
This new series will be on display at CEATEC JAPAN 2015 from October 7 to 10 (Wed.-Sat.) at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan
Overview, Background of Development
With the continuing goal to make vehicle interiors more comfortable and spacious many of the vehicles control modules are being moved to the engine compartment. These modules include the ECU’s (engine control units) and various other control units. As a result of this move they are becoming increasingly smaller and more efficient. The components used in such an environment are required to withstand high temperatures, and must have advanced functionality, high capacity, and high ripple current. In response to these requirements Nichicon has developed the UBY Series.
Features
The UBY Series is based on core technologies developed over many years by Nichicon, including etching technology. Through the use of high-capacity electrode foil and the optimization of the internal structure, this series has up to three times higher capacity than Nichicon’s current products. The high-performance electrolytic solution that is used offers stability at high temperature ranges. Combine that with the highly durable rubber sealing material used, the UBY Series achieves more than double the ripple current of Nichicon’s current products. The UBY Series will allow for a smaller footprint and greater efficiency for a variety of control units for the transportation industry.
