Elkhart, IN - August 12, 2015 - CTS Corporation (NYSE: CTS), through its subsidiary, CTS Electronic Components, Inc. introduces a surface-mount RF Bandpass Filter for use in Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) including 802.11p for Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments (WAVE) and Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DRSC). The CTS TCB001A Bandpass Filter supports 2W of average RF output power at the Antenna and is a necessary component to ensure compliance and non-interference to 3GPP for wireless infrastructure co-location/co-existence.

This newest filter addition to the CTS product portfolio is composed of a ceramic block plated with silver (Ag), measures 4.0x3.0x2.0mm and weighs 0.14 grams. The filter delivers 45dB of rejection with insertion loss of less than 1dB and return loss of at least16dB. Rated to handle input power of up to 3 Watt average and 30 Watt peak, at operating temperatures from -50°C to +150°C.

Applications seeking either Power Class D of 28.8dBm (0.8W), or 2W (33dBm) at theAntenna require RF power levels which are supported by the TCB001A, but are notsupportable by SAW/BAW/FBAR technology. In addition, the small size of this new CTS product is similar in size to typical packaging of SAW/BAW/FBAR.

This emerging radio technology requires the performance provided by this filter in vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to- infrastructure wireless communication systems.

"Our engagements to date with leading V2X customers confirm that this product delivers compelling performance capabilities not offered by others in the C-ITS component market," states Vice President & General Manager of CTS Electronic Components, Mario Saucedo.
In addition to the TCB001A, CTS engineers are currently developing the TCB002A which supports ETSI EN 302 571 and/or 5 GHz WiFi co-location.
