Pulse Electronics Introduces G.fast Transformers for use with Broadcom’s Chipsets
2015-06-23 | ReturnHave an operating bandwidth of 2 to 100 MHz and target speeds up to 1 Gbps
June 23, 2015 -- Pulse Electronics Corporation, a leading provider of electronic components, introduces its new family of G.fast functional isolation transformers. Pulse’s BX4500LNL and BX4500LNLT transformers can be matched with a Microsemi line driver and used with Broadcom’s BCM652xx DSP and BCM659xx AFE chipsets for G.fast transmission, Le87282. Operating bandwidth is 2 MHz to 100 MHz with target speeds up to 1 Gbps to consumer residences. These transformers enable Broadcom’s chipsets to deliver high-speed broadband access for broadcast quality multi-stream IPTV, voice, data, and home networking.
The G.fast transformers are built on a very small platform of 8mm x 8mm x 10mm (length x width x height) with a low leakage inductance of less than 0.4 µH. G.fast is the newly approved ultra-broadband DSL standard from the ITU for local loops shorter than 500 meters and is expected to deliver up to 1 Gbps to consumer residences, ITU-T G.9701.
“These transformers have improved longitudinal balance and provide excellent total harmonic distortion performance on a very compact platform,” explained Ronan Kelly, product marketing manager, Pulse Electronics. “The G.fast series supports Broadcom’s chipset technology to drive data rates up to 150 Mbps/downstream and 100 Mbps/upstream on a single line.”
Pulse Electronics’ BX4500LNL transformer is packaged in trays while the BX4500LNLT is packaged in tape and reel. They are EN60950 functional isolation compliant 250Vrms and RoHS-6 compliant SMD products. The G.fast transformers are available now with a lead-time of 8 weeks. Evaluation samples are available immediately. More information can be found on the datasheet located on the Pulse website at http://productfinder.pulseeng.com/products/datasheets/T709.pdf, or by contacting Pulse at info@pulseelectronics.com or visiting the Pulse Electronics website atwww.pulseelectronics.com.
