NVE Introduces the World’s Most Sensitive Magnetometer IC

2022-12-19 | Return
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.—December 19, 2022—Billed as the world’s most sensitive magnetometer integrated circuit, the new ALT021-10E analog magnetometer has a remarkable sensitivity of 0.5 millivolts per volt per microtesla. Based on NVE’s unique ALT-Series Tunneling Magnetoresistance (TMR) technology, the new part can precisely measure fields from less than a microtesla to 250 microtesla.

Bipolar Output
The differential bridge outputs are bipolar, meaning positive for a positive field and negative for an opposite field polarity.

Best-in-Class Specifications

Key ALT021-10E specifications include:

• High sensitivity (0.5 millivolts per volt per microtesla typical)
• Large signal (200 millivolts per volt typical full-scale)
• Flexible 0 to 14 volt supply (no minimum)
• 20 kiloohm device resistance for low power
• 250 microtesla linear range
• ±40 to 125 degree Celsius operating range
• 2.5 by 2.5 millimeter DFN package

Applications
The ALT021-10E is idela for a number of low-field sensing applications, including motion, speed, and position control; non-contact current sensing; motion, speed, and position control; and mechatronics and robotics.

Three Versions
There are now three ALT-Series TMR magnetometer versions, the ALT025-10E, with a linear range of 0 to 10 millitesla; the ALT023-10E, with a linear range of 0 to 1 millitesla; and the new ALT021-10E with a with a linear range of 0 to 250 microtesla.

Available Now
The ALT021-10E, ALT023-10E, and ALT025-10E are all in stock for immediate delivery.
