Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies to use IDT DDR4 Chipset for the Qualcomm Centriq 2400 Processor
2017-11-08 | Return
SAN JOSE, Calif., November 8 , 2017 — Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®) (NASDAQ: IDTI) today announced that Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies, a subsidiary of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., will use IDT’s second generation DDR4 chipset with the Qualcomm Centriq™ 2400 processor. This chipset includes the IDT 4RCD0229K register, 4DB0226KB data buffer and TSE2004 temperature sensor. IDT leveraged its intimate knowledge of system architecture, memory channel signal integrity and software capabilities to facilitate rapid enablement of the DDR4 memory subsystem on the Qualcomm Centriq 2400. IDT is proud to play a key role in Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies’ strong offering for the next generation of data center and cloud computing equipment.“Over the last year, Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies has worked closely with IDT to qualify their register, data buffer and temperature sensor on the Qualcomm Centriq 2400 processor to offer DDR4 2667Mt/s memory to our datacenter customers”, said Ram Peddibhotla, vice president, product management, Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies. “We are uniquely poised as the growing datacenter industry rapidly moves to a cloud based environment. Working closely with industry leaders like IDT enables Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies to contribute to the Arm-based server ecosystem to further accelerate adoption of our platforms.”
IDT’s second generation DDR4 chipset offers industry-leading performance and is backed by a suite of features and validation tools that enable customers to optimize their platforms for peak bandwidth and memory capacity at the lowest possible power envelope. Cloud service providers and server OEMs are able to leverage these capabilities to offer purpose-built equipment that delivers maximum value to their customers in the form of workload performance and efficiency.
“IDT is working closely with key ecosystem suppliers like Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies to deliver optimized solutions for the next generation of cloud service offerings such as machine learning and real-time analytics”, said Sean Fan, senior vice president and general manager of the Computing and Communications Group at IDT. “Our memory interface solutions enable flexible, scalable and composable memory footprints that differentiate customer systems and lower total costs of ownership.”
