NICHICON Develops the LHT Series of Heat-Resistant Snap-In Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors(Guaranteed for 3,000 Hours at 125°C)

NICHICON CORPORATION has developed the LHT series of snap-in aluminum electrolytic capacitors that are guaranteed for 3,000 hours at 125°C. The series delivers the industry’s highest heat resistance for snap-in capacitors. The LHT series meets the demand for higher heat resistance, which is especially strong in the field of 5G and other telecommunications infrastructure.

NICHION will exhibit the series at TECHNO-FRONTIER 2021’s 36th Power System Japan Expo.

Overview and Development Background

Equipment in telecommunications (5G), environmental and renewable energy is increasingly being installed in locations with harsh environmental conditions. Fanless and hermetically sealed power supplies are being used in the next-generation power devices (GaN and SiC). The increased density of components has led to a rise in internal temperatures creating the demand for high heat resistance components especially where the equipment is installed in remote locations and it is difficult to carry out maintenance.

In order to meet this demand, Nichicon has developed the new LHT series, which is a more heat-resistant version of the current LGN series (guaranteed for 3,000 hours at 105°C).

Features

The LHT series delivers the industry’s highest heat resistance (guaranteed for 3,000 hours at 125°C) through the use of a highly reliable electrode foil that is durable at high temperatures, electrolytic paper with high electrolyte retention capacity, and a structure that suppresses electrolyte evaporation.
