Lisle, Ill. – CTS Corporation announces the release of its Series 292 Optical Ring Encoder. The Series 292 delivers enhanced reliability and longevity with optical digital encoding technology. Applications utilizing the Series 292 Optical Ring Encoder will experience longer field deployment resulting in reduced equipment downtime, reduced service frequency, and reduced cost of equipment maintenance while maintaining exceptional component performance.

The Series 292 features optical non-contacting technology with a 2-bit quadrature output. Rotational life of 3 million cycles and wide operating temperature range of -10°C to +85°C coupled with resolution of 24 PPR make this encoder an exceptional value for a myriad of applications. 5.0 VDC and 3.3 VDC power options enable this encoder to be used in standard and energy efficient circuits. An internal Schmitt trigger and pull-up resistor provides added output stability while reducing the number of external components required to use this encoder.
