Description

For car audio amplifiers, high environmental noise tolerance from DC-DC converter power supplies are required. Suitable to this need, Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation, (AKM), has released the AK5522VN, an automotive stereo A/D converter, (ADC), with enhanced resistance to power supply noise and system board noise. Directly connecting the DC-DC converter output to the AK5522VN as a power supply is possible, accomplishing a rich sound field and bass expressions, and distortion-free recording regardless of usage environment. In addition, analog characteristics such as the dynamic range are optimized based on VELVET SOUND (TM) technology that has been widely adopted by well-established high-end audio companies.

The AK5522VN is also ideal for non-automotive applications, such as USB audio interfaces and wireless speakers since it has high tolerance to supply and system noise.

Features

● World highest class *1 performance achieved at 80dB PSRR and 80dB CMRR even with a signal input

The AK5522VN maintains high PSRR with or without a signal input. The high PSRR and CMRR performance are achieved not only for the typical test condition of 1kHz, but also for wideband environmental noise of up to 3 MHz. Excellent noise tolerance in a real-world design enables the reduction of peripheral parts and cost enabling lower system cost and a smaller total footprint.

● Integrated high PSRR regulator for an external DAC power supply

By supplying power from the AK5522VN to a D/A converter, (DAC), it is possible to maximize the performance of the DAC even with a system using a DC-DC converter or a USB bus power supply with a noisy supply.

● Low jitter audio PLL to generate the internal master clock from LRCK/BICK

This eliminates the need for unnecessary routing of a high frequency master clock on the board, enabling a low EMI solution. In addition, a low jitter master clock to the DAC will help prevent

● Support AEC-Q100 Grade 2

The AK5522VN supports an operating temperature range of -40 ~ 105°C.
