Description

CO2 sensor is used for air conditioning system to realize high efficiency and comfortable environment. At present, Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation (AKM) is mass-producing an infrared (IR) sensor AK9710, an uncooled InSb type photovoltaic power element with an optical filter corresponding to a pass band in the infrared absorption band of CO2.

Newly developed AK9700AE is an infrared LED with a peak emission wavelength in the infrared absorption band of CO2. The AK9700AE features high speed driving, high reliability and small package, contributing to miniaturization and low power consumption of CO2 sensor.

The AK9721AE is IR sensor AFE equipped with IR-LED driver. It can control the gain of AFE and the constant current driving condition of light emitting diode, features low current consumption, small package.

New lineup, AK9700AE, AK9721AE in addition to AK9710 are easy to configure NDIR type CO2 sensor. In the future, with the spread of the NDIR type CO2 sensor, the efficient operation of the air conditioning system becomes possible and energy saving effect can be expected. Mass production is scheduled for January 2018. The automotive version of both products is planned for automotive air conditioners and others.
