Bourns’ Multifuse Product Line Announces Additional New Models to MF-USML Family of PPTC Resettable Fuses

Riverside, California - July 7, 2017 - The Bourns Multifuse Product Line is pleased to announce the introduction of a series of new part numbers to the already successful MF-USML product family of surface mount Polymer Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC) Resettable Fuses. The five additional new models will now extend the maximum operating current of the MF-USML series from 1.75 A to 7.0 A.

Bourns’ low ohmic materials used in this product family have post trip resistance values as low as 13.5 mOhms and initial resistance values as low as 1 mOhm. Such low resistance values help boost the current carrying capability of these new devices. Bourns can now achieve a 7 A Ihold model in a 1210 package (MF-USML700-2).

These compact MF-USML models use Bourns’ freeXpansion™ design that increases the performance of the resettable fuse with:

•Higher hold currents (Ihold)

•Improved resistance stability

•Higher voltages (Vmax)

•Smaller footprints

The primary applications for these products include PC motherboard port protection, USB memory modules, wearable devices and battery protection for smart phones. These devices have been designed to protect against both overcurrent and overtemperature events within these applications.

The new Model MF-USML Multifuse® PPTC resettable fuses are RoHS compliant* and UL recognized for safety requirements, and are produced in Bourns’ TS16949 approved facility in Xiamen, China.
