Bourns Releases New Surge Protective Devices (SPDs) Hardwired AC Surge Protective Devices Model 1214 & 1224 Series

Bourns is pleased to announce the release of the Model 1214 and 1224 Series Heavy Duty AC Surge Protectors. The new models are high performance Type 1 SPDs designed to be installed on the line side of the main service disconnect.The Bourns® SPD designs utilize high energy Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs). The Model 1214 is rated at 100 kA and the Model 1224 is rated at 200 kA on a single 8/20 µs surge. These series support all common low voltage electrical distribution modes and voltages.
The Bourns® Model 1214 and 1224 Series are designed for either indoor or outdoor installation. In the unlikely event of a failure condition, the series are designed with disconnection features as well as visual and audio indicators. All Model 1214 and 1224 Series products are listed to UL1449.
